Yesterday I got to spend some time with an old friend and her new little family! It was such a good time and let me tell you, this little mister already has so much personality! I can't wait to see this when he's a little older.

Julien's Game Face

This has been an eventful week. I feel like we've really been taking advantage of summer this year and I love it. This week we've gone to the pool, Andrew and I got to go to the driving range while Jules played at Mamma Karen's and toady we played tennis with Aunt Amanda and Zach. Julien did so well playing in the pack-n-play while we played. He also enjoyed chasing tennis balls and playing with the ball containers. He's really into lids and cups right now. He loves taking lids off and putting them back on and he's recently discovered how to stack cups. The things that entertain kids...

I love being a mom, but...

...in the last 10 minutes I smashed my toe under the ottoman (it's now bleeding), and Jules pooped on me and threw up on me twice. Amazing how a great day can turn to crap in a matter of minutes! Literally! Probably time for this momma to go to bed...

This girl is gorgeous. In the past year she has gone from cute little girl to knockout! As much as I hate to say it... but she's beautiful, sweet and caring. I'm a lucky gal to call her my sister <3

Julien's First Birthday Party

I have spent the past week planning, preparing and WORRYING about everything being perfect for Julien's first birthday party. Last night around 2 am I finally just let it go and decided I'd done about all I could do. (100 cupcakes, 50 brownies and 1 smash cake later...) I did finish up favor bags this morning. One thing I was particularly concerned about... but despite the weather, Julien had the best birthday party he's ever had! And really, as far as birthday parties goes, I'd say this one was great! I went with a forest theme, but I really didn't do too much aside from some yummy foods... I have to say, it was pretty fantastic and I think everyone had a good time.

I know Jules had a blast and got a carload of sweet loot! 

By the time we'd gotten  home he was in full force sugar coma and I was sure that leftover chocolate icing would be staying in Julien's nose until morning but it didn't keep the child that never sleeps out for too long. He was up by 11 and we've played with all the new toys. I really can't tell what his favorite is yet but Mama and Papa's favorite is definitely going to be the year zoo membership!

Of course, it went all too quickly, just like the whole last year! I didn't have a chance to get good pictures of any decorations... and did I mention that I forgot to pass out the treat bags? Yeah... bummed... but great memories!

Bowling... & I kicked butt!

Last week we played put-put with Amanda and Zach and I lost horribly. This week we went bowling and I kicked butt! (We all did a little worse than usual, but still!)

Pretty pathetic that I'd beat everyone with 122, but I'll take it! But the best part of this little outing would have to be that it was free since we had some coupons! I'm always down for free fun!

My Baby Is ONE!

Happy official, to the minute birthday to my sweet boy! Every minute since (even the poopy diapers and constant flow of spit up) has made this past year the very best of Mommy's life. Julien, you are the funniest, smartest and just all around most perfect little thing and you are loved beyond words.
