One week...

My beautiful baby boy is one week old today. I still can't believe he's mine. I must have done something right because he is absolutely perfect.

Today, I love my job... Being a mommy and working in a photo studio=good combination!

36 weeks

How far along? 36 weeks 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: I think I'll stop keeping track...
Maternity clothes? nothing new
Best moment this week: We haven't had a great week this week. I've been on bed rest because the doctor is afraid I'm getting preeclampsia. So we've been in bed and bored...
Movement: A little less moving this week. I think there's not enough room.
Food cravings: chick-fil-a, milkshakes and popsicles.
Gender: Definitely boy!
Labor Signs: We might be meeting sooner than planned if my blood pressure doesn't get under control! I've been having more contractions, too.
Belly Button in or out? It's pretty weird looking.
What I miss: Not being so sick, sleeping on my stomach, not being huge, not having allergies...
What I am looking forward to: snuggling with the baby.
Weekly Wisdom: bed rest is not fun...
Milestones: The end of this week puts us at full term!

A little photo shoot

I kind of hate maternity portraits. I understand that someday I will want to look back on this time and want to remember every second, but really...? I don't want to remember that I threw up almost everyday for several months, or that I was the size of a small elephant. So here are our 'maternity photos'.

Whimsy

When I was 14, my aunt gave me an old suitcase that was hers when she was younger. It's light blue and heavy and no one in their right mind would travel with this suitcase today... but I've always had a little thing for this suitcase, so I knew I wanted to find some to use for storage in the wee one's room.

I came across these at a yard sale and couldn't have been more excited when the little stickers on them said 25 cents! Why, yes! Yes, I will take those ugly colored, completely inconvenient for traveling suitcases off your hands for 50 cents!

Soon they'll be home to the (already large) Thomas The Train collection! (Also from yard sales... and my younger brother's cherished collection.) Or some equally fun toys...
